Finding the Right Workshop for You

Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 12:00pm Central Time

with Reid Callanan

TPS Council Member, Director of Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, and former Managing Director of Maine Photographic Workshops

Taking a workshop can be a life-changing experience, or it can be a huge disappointment. How do you increase the odds for a life-altering program and not a wasted trip? With the recent proliferation of workshop locations and instructor choices, the challenge of making the right decision is daunting. It’s important to decipher the syntax and read between the lines of workshop promotional materials. What’s the different between a workshop, a seminar, a tour, and an expedition? How can you tell how many people are attending the program? Too many people are always a problem as are workshops with too few participants. Is the instructor capable, and is he going to show up prepared? Am I going to be safe and well taken care of on an international photo trip? How do I get into workshops that usually fill up as soon as they are announced (or sometimes even before they are made public)? Join this conversation with Reid who has some answers and suggestions for you!
