We are so grateful to you, our TPS community, for your ongoing support. We are especially thankful for your kind words of encouragement and feedback.

As a fellow Texan, I've followed the work of the Texas Photographic Society for several years. I was thrilled and honored to be invited to jury TPS 29: The International Competition 2020. I value the exposure photographers receive by exhibiting in the TPS online and in-gallery exhibitions. By showcasing their work, photographers gain exposure and build their audience, moving the work forward professionally. Special thanks to TPS Executive Director Susan Edgley for her support and commitment to the wider Photographic Community. — Elizabeth Avedon, January 2021
I am a thousand miles away in Ohio, and yet the TPS has been a resource and community that has greatly benefited my practice. I joined in 2015 and am pleased to have my photographs included in TPS exhibitions juried by Molly Roberts, Keith Carter, Reid Callanan, Roy Flukinger and Catherine Couturier. To have my work seen and then selected by these esteemed jurors is an honor. Both executive directors I have communicated with, Susan Edgley and Amy Holmes George, have been friendly, helpful and exemplary. I look forward to when I can attend in person events and exhibitions produced by the Texas Photographic Society.Kent Krugh, January 2021
I love TPS and what the organization has contributed all these years. I cherish the memories I have from the years I was an active board member and I'm honored that you wish to feature my imagery. — O. Rufus Lovett, December 2020
It's a blessing to have met Executive Director Susan Edgley this past year, while volunteering for a TPS project. I owe my utmost gratitude to Ms. Edgley, for her heart of kindness, and that such genuine kindness has been used to uplift others. True humility is described as having authority, or power and choosing to be humble towards others. Thank you very much for inviting me to be a part of a community that truly believes in investing in talent and the next generation. God bless the TPS community. — Paulina B. Wilson, December 2020
Susan, the Spotlight page is beautifully formatted. Many thanks for this opportunity! And, thank you for keeping TPS running and for all you do for the photography community. I have met some wonderfully talented photographers through the TPS organization, many of whom I now consider life-long friends. I am proud to be a member of TPS. — Fran Forman, December 2020
Dear Susan, I was just thinking today about how long I have been a member of TPS. Thinking about how Nancy Scanlan promoted a pushpin show for me that got some positive reviews from members of the fairly new organization. I was remembering how I became familiar with the major players in Texas photography and how much I have learned from them over the years. Today, under your leadership, the society is in full bloom. Congratulations on your work and your enthusiasm with Texas photography and showing the rest of the world that we are not a cultural wasteland. Our international membership is ample proof of the influence the organization has made under your leadership. And many thanks to the directors on whose shoulders you stand. It has been a long journey. There have been times when our leadership has been discouraged I am sure, but they prevailed and today we have a thriving institution. I appreciate your leadership and support with curating the members' exhibition. Keep up the great work. There are exciting days ahead for TPS. — Bill Wright, December 2020
The Texas Photographic Society has been a great experience for meeting artists and sharing incredible talented work within the state. As a member of several photographic societies in various locations throughout the United States, I am delighted to again cross paths with artists that have been featured in juried TPS exhibitions with myself. — Becky Wilkes, December 2020

The commentary is so skillfully woven amongst the images. I didn't know I could sound so good. Having the blog so prominently displayed is fantastic. I hope people will enjoy reading it and learning more about me. It's a tribute to your imagination that you would post a feature that shows how photography can be incorporated into art-making. As a twenty-year member of Texas Photographic Society, I can say this organization has demonstrated a strong and dedicated vision to photography and the photographic community. I have been involved with numerous art and photography organizations throughout my career as a photo-based artist. TPS exhibits a very clear vision, and their commitment to their members and community has been aptly demonstrated and documented through the years. It was founded in 1984 and has managed to grow, support, embrace and serve. They provide a valuable resource to photographers, not only in the community but nation-wide. — Laura Bennett, May 2020
I have been a member of Texas Photographic Society since 1982. This organization has grown in Texas and beyond to be the preeminent photographic organization in Texas. One of the founding ideas of the organization was to bring photographic knowledge to all parts of Texas. Having lived in a rural area for the past fifty years I cannot express how important TPS has been to those unable to access large metropolitan areas. To be informed of ideas and visual information via TPS's newsletters, workshops, exhibits and lectures has been critical to my photographic growth. — Ashton Thornhill, May 2020
